Where It All Began
After many years working with boy’s homes, Andy and Rose follow God’s lead and set the ReVive dream in motion. A meeting with three young girls being sexually exploited in 2010 had shown them the great need for a home just for girls.
ReVive International UK Charity Established
An early step in the realisation of a safe house for girls in Brazil was the founding of the charity in the UK from where much support comes.
Brazilian ngo ‘reaviva’ founded
A local NGO is formed to set up the future work with the girls. The long bureaucratic process of obtaining all the necessary paperwork and authorisations begins.
revive hits the streets
The next step of ReVive’s fledgling work is to go to the streets of Olinda where sandwiches, coffee and clothes are handed out to the homeless and where conversations and prayer are had with the prostitutes and transvestites. It was during one of these late night street visits that the team found the first girl to take to the ReVive home in 2014…
first house purchased
We finally get the keys to the house after a miraculous fundraising campaign and many legal documentation processes. Work begins to get it ready to accept girls at the beginning of the next year.
ReVive’s first home opens
The moment we’ve been working towards and a great step in the history of ReVive. The house becomes the first and only home in the city for girls… more than 60 girls have passed through since then…
revive usa founded
ReVive is now registered in the USA as a non-profit organisation making us truly international! This expands our support base to our American friends.
ReVive’s vision Expands
God is at work laying the people of Olinda on the hearts of many people. The increase in human resources helps ReVive branch out into Community Prevention, Adoption & Fostering, Advocacy and Environmental work. ReVive is also recognised as a Mission Training Centre and receives their first intake of students.
second home purchased
Thanks to an extremely generous donation, ReVive is able to fulfil a long-held dream and acquire the house next door. This is the first step towards opening a home for babies and young children.
‘kelsey’ house opens
Though the dream for ReVive is to close these homes and transition to family-based care, for the time being there is a need for a second home. So, one is built and opened to take boys and girls between the ages of 0 – 6 years old.
